This heat protection allows the turbocharger to reach the operating temperature faster and cools down more slowly (longer service life of the turbocharger).

The jacket offers a splash protection for the turbocharger, eg due to cold rainwater (less corrosion and no thermoshock problems).

Cables, cables and hoses in the vicinity of the turbocharger are protected from overheating.

The risk of burns due to hot exhaust gas housing of the charger is prevented.
